OneHoop and Regina & District Chamber of Commerce Announce "Widening the Circle: Embracing Reconciliation in Business" Conference
OneHoop Indigenous Advisory Services, in partnership with the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce the upcoming conference, "Widening the Circle: Embracing Reconciliation in Business." Scheduled to take place at the Atlas Hotel on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, this event will focus on advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92 through meaningful dialogue and actionable strategies in the Regina business community.
The conference aims to bring together business leaders, Indigenous entrepreneurs, and community members to explore how organizations can incorporate reconciliation into their operations. With an emphasis on procurement, hiring practices, and sharing reconciliation journeys, the event seeks to foster inclusive and collaborative approaches within the business sector.
Cadmus Delorme, OneHoop Founder & CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about the event, stating, “This conference represents a significant step forward in integrating reconciliation into the fabric of our business practices. By expanding our circles and engaging in honest conversations, we can create lasting change and build stronger, more inclusive communities. I look forward to sharing insights and learning from the diverse perspectives that will be gathered.”
Tony Playter, CEO of the Regina Chamber of Commerce, also highlighted the importance of the conference: "Enhancing economic reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses is vital for economic growth in Regina and Saskatchewan. This conference is a great first step in developing long-term relationships and partnerships in our communities."
The event will feature a series of panels and workshops, including discussions on reconciliation in procurement, hiring Indigenous people, and effectively sharing organizational reconciliation journeys.
